The flood and spill protection boom is a versatile and flexible barrier that can be used on water levels between 30cm and 2 metres over an unlimited distance.
It is an ideal system for creating a barrier to protect your premises in the event of a flood warning.
Equipped with standardised fittings and easy to store, set-up, use and dismantle after use the flood protection boom protects traffic routes, industrial, historic or strategic sites.
How it works
This flood protection barrier uses the strength and power of water to keep areas protected from flooding. The barrier is simple and easy to store and can easily be handled by just two people.
The flood protection barrier utilised a simple concept based on modular flood barriers available in the following formats:-
- Single or double tube
- Diameter – 40cm / 60cm / 80cm
- Length – 10m / 20m / 30m
- Straight or angle fixings available in three diameters
Product Information
- Easy to use and transport – bags weigh approximately 0.27kg each and measure 305 x 610mm before being activated by fresh water
- Sturdy construction – passes multiple drop tests from 1 metre
- Quick acting – the bag fills to capacity in 2.5 – 3.5 minutes, ready to prevent floods and leakage from causing damage
- Engineered consistency – designed and built to maintain a consistent shape throughout the bag. The Ultra-Flood stoppers use an ingenious and patent pending method for assuring the complete distribution of water-absorbing polymer granules, when activated
- Fills to approximately 102mm height/13.6kg
- Safe, non-toxic, and can be disposed of at local landfill, subject to local rules.
How to set the flood barrier up
Fill the watertight barrier with water. Depending on the length of the barrier a pump may be required, please contact us for further information.
The water enables the boom to be in complete contact with the floor, thus, creating a watertight seal between the ground and the barrier ensuring the integrity of the barrier. When the barrier is no longer required simply drain the water out of the tube before folding and storing away.
Assembling a barrier to prevent the risk of flooding
The water barrier system can be used as a single barrier or stacked due to its modular properties to create a much taller barrier against larger flood risks.
